Blood was collected from subjects (T₀) prior to exposure to either filtered air or diesel particles for two hours after which another blood sample was obtained (T₂). The subjects then returned the next day for the final blood collection (T₂₄). Lipid and cytokines were measured from each blood sample and plasma was extracted and frozen. After all samples were collected, the each plasma sample was to the culture media of human coronary endothelial cells.
