A syringe pump was used for loading different cells into the microchannel. A function generator and a power amplifier supplied an appropriate electrical signal between the ITO layers, and the electrical signal was monitored by an oscilloscope. The optimized light regime was projected onto the photoconductive layer (a-Si: H) by a digital projector and a condensing lens. The pairing and fusion processes were observed under a florescent microscope equipped with a CCD.
