Figure 7

Effect of lysine deacetylases (KDAC) homologs, the Pta‐AckA pathways, and the glyoxylate bypass on protein acetylation and succinylation. (A) Western blot analysis using an anti‐acetyl lysine antibody with the lysates of ATCC13032 (WT), KS13 (ΔKDACs), NM32 (ΔackA), NM33 (Δpta), and NM57 (ΔackA Δpta) is shown. (B) Western blot analysis using anti‐succinyl lysine antibody with the lysates of ATCC13032 (WT), NM71 (ΔaceA), and NM73 (ΔaceA ΔglcB) is shown. Corynebacterium glutamicum cells were grown in glutamate‐producing medium and the cells were harvested after 9 h of cultivation. Lysate aliquots containing 40 μg of protein were separated by 10% SDS‐PAGE. Upper: western blot; Lower: Ponceau staining. Some bands indicated with asterisk in lanes of WT and NM57 in panel A and in lane of NM71 in panel B were not reproducible.
