The total sample size for the agreement testing is 964 (of 1155, 83.5%) due to missing data on self-reporting or genital examination of circumcision. No man was partially circumcised, a phenomenon more common with infant circumcision which was rare here.

Note: Using genital exam as the definitive method for assessing circumcision: Kappa=0.81; sensitivity=94%; specificity=97%; positive predictive value (PPV)=74%, negative predictive value (NPV)=99%.
