RT-QuIC analysis of CSF from C-, L-, and H-BSE-positive cattle using BV rPrPSen 23–230, M109, BV rPrPSen 90–230, M109, and hamster rPrPSen 90–231. CSF samples from two C-BSE-, four L-BSE-, and two H-BSE-affected cattle and two uninfected cattle were tested by RT-QuIC. BV rPrPSen 23–230, M109 (A), BV rPrPSen 90–230, M109 (B), and Ha rPrPSen 90–231 (C) were used as substrates in the presence of 0.002% SDS and 300 mM NaCl. The reaction mixtures were incubated at 42°C (BV rPrPSen 23–230, M109) or 55°C (BV rPrPSen 90–230, M109 and Ha rPrPSen 90–231). The traces are the average fluorescence values (y axes) of replicate wells. * The fractions indicate the number of positive wells out of the total number of replicate reactions for each sample.
