Analysis of the cis-regulatory elements in the promoters of actively expressed genes in 1-cell stage embryos. The presence of cis-regulatory elements was examined in the proximal and core promoter regions of the actively expressed genes (top 2,000 RPKM) in the preimplantation embryos. The RPKM values in exons were used for embryos at all stages, excluding 1-cell stage embryos for which the RPKM values in introns were used. The percentages of the genes that possess each proximal promoter (GC box [–124 to +5] and CAAT box [–155 to –20]), core promoter (TATA box [–90 to +27] and Inr [–55 to +56]) are shown.
