Electroacupuncture stimulation at CV4 prevents bone loss in an estrogen deficiency model. Hematoxylin and eosin staining revealed ovariectomy-induced deterioration of the trabecular microarchitecture owing to the destruction of the trabecular bone in the femoral head (magnification, ×10). Electroacupuncture stimulation at CV4 led to well-developed trabeculae, compared with the sham group. However, the mock group did not exhibit an improvement in the deterioration of trabeculae. OVx, ovariectomy.
