The full-length amino acid sequence of SasA was analyzed using bioinformatics tools. SasA is mainly composed of a short serine-rich repeat region (SRR1), a non-repeat region (NRR), a second long serine-rich repeat region (SRR2) and a C-terminal cell wall anchor motif (CW). Sequence homology analysis showed that NRR is the most conserved region of SasA. Different regions of SasA were expressed and purified. These are indicated below the full-length SasA.
