The images show excerpts from the time-domain traces of the spontaneous Raman (a) anti-Stokes and (b) Stokes components, measured using a 9-km-long sensing fibre. During the measurement process, the temperature of 10 m of fibre has been increased from room temperature (25 °C) up to 40 °C. For the sake of clarity, only the last 200 m are shown in the figure.
