Sequences identified from the saliva of aphid species Myzus persicae via mass spectrometry analysis were identified as being under positive selection (DN/DS = 1.3). These were annotated as glucose dehydrogenase acceptor-like (similar to Acyrthosiphon pisum, gi|328715546). We found sites most likely to be under positive selection fall within GMC oxireductase PFAM domains (P > 0.95). These sites are marked on the alignment by boxes. Mutations in these domains may be important for co-evolution with host plants in a changing environment
