WWBs in the tropical Pacific in January and February of 2014. The spatial structures of anomalies in surface wind field (vectors; meters per second) and SST (colors; degrees Celsius) are shown at the peaks of the two WWBs that occurred in the early months of 2014, on (A) January 27 and (B) February 25. In both cases, twin cyclones were formed on opposite sides of the equator, generating strong anomalous westerly winds at the equator.
