The FAD proteins from Arabidopsis (A. thaliana, AtFADs), rape (Brassica napus, BnFADs), soybean (G. max, GmFADs), apple (Malus domestica, MdFADs), tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, SlFADs), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum, NtFADs), rice (Oryza sativa, OsFADs), and maize (Zea mays, ZmFADs) were aligned using ClustalX 2.0, and the phylogenetic tree was constructed using the Neighbor-Joining (NJ) method with the program MEGA 5.2. The cucumber FAD proteins are highlighted in red.
