C, D, Normalized suction current and the likelihood to fire APs as a function of stimulus duration. A “1” or a “0” was given for each stimulation if APs were or were not generated. For a given stimulus duration, these values were averaged across cells to give a “chance of firing.” At 0.03, 0.1, and 0.1 s, OMP KO ORNs were less likely to generate APs (χ2 test, *p = 0.01). n = 6–11.
