Pulmonary inflammation in TiO2-exposed lung was more severe than that in crystalline silica-exposed lung at one week following intratracheal instillation. However, pulmonary inflammation in TiO2-exposed lung disappeared at six months and the inflammation in crystalline-exposed lung severely increased.
