Characterization of the MrTV. (A) Sensitivity of MrTV RNA to single strand-specific RNase A or DNase. RNase A-digested (+), DNase-digested (+), or Control (−) nucleic acids of the viral particles prepared. RT–PCR and PCR were conducted with specific primer pairs; Mw, molecular weight; and (B) schematic diagram of the genome organization of MrTV indicated in the orientation of 5′ to 3′. The genome has a small peptide covalently linked to the 5′ end (genome-linked virus protein, VPg) and a 3′ polyadenylated terminus. Two open reading frames with conserved protein domains (RNA helicase, Hel; cysteine protease, Pro; RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, RdRp) are indicated. Two conserved internal ribosome entry site (IRES) located in the non-translated region are shown.
