Observational datasets of thermal expansion for the upper ocean (12–14), the middepth ocean (1, 14), and the deep ocean (15). They are combined to yield total thermal expansion (see Observations of thermal expansion and Fig. S2). Time series are offset by a constant to their 1986–2005 mean for better visibility.
