An example of characteristics of the injury risk environment for AST. Zip codes with highest incidence of child injury (2013) are based on data from Akron Children’s Hospital and from the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA). These data consist of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department visits. For this project, only patients who are between the ages of 0 and 18 years and reside in Summit County are collected. Locations of child pedestrians injured by automobile collisions (2013- first half of 2015) and shots fired (2010--2014) are identified through Akron Police Department data.
