Cells were seeded at a density of 2.4 × 104/cm2 in a 60 mm cell culture dish in duplicate. Cells were treated with aspirin after 48 h incubation and then harvested at 24 h intervals and viable cell numbers counted using Trypan blue exclusion assay. Growth inhibition (%) was calculated as a percentage of the number of cells treated with aspirin against the number of cells of control. The growth inhibition of control cells was known as 0 % (n = 3–8, with two replicates per experiment)
