P28GST immunization of mice modifies the production by spleen cells of T helper type 2 (Th2)- and Th1-type cytokines. Spleen cells were recovered from the three groups of mice: immunized with P28GST (25 or 5 μg kg⁻¹) or adjuvant. Total spleen cells were stimulated either non-specifically with Concanavalin A (ConA) or specifically with P28GST, and cytokine concentrations were determined in supernatants by Luminex. (a) Interleukin (IL)-4, (b) IL-13, (c) IL-10, (d) IL-5, (e) tumor necrosis factor (TNF), (f) IL-1β, (g) IL-17, and (h) interferon-γ (IFNγ) concentrations were measured. Results are the mean±s.e.m. of a spleen cell pools from 15 mice per group. *P<0.05.
