Overall, treatment of Cas9 affected the phenotype (χ2 = 169.61, p < 0.0001). Treatment by each one of the three Cas9s induced more malformations than the vehicle treatment (p < 0.0001 for each comparison). LCas9-1 induced a higher rate of malformation in the heart than LCas9-2 (χ2 = 17.02, p < 0.0001) and ZCas9 (χ2 = 5.28, p = 0.022). LCas9-2 did not differ from ZCas9 in the number of induced malformations (χ2 = 2.613, p = 0.10).
