Sterol secretion and bile acid formation in Huh7 cells. Cells were pulsed for 2 h with HDL-, CERM- or LDL-[14C]CE at 32–61 nmol CE/mL media, washed, and harvested (2 h) or chased in fresh media and harvested at 4, 6 or 8 h. Chase media was collected for analysis of secreted C-sterols. Cell lipids and media were partitioned to determine the ratios of bile acids to neutral sterols. A.
