Approximately 50% of the surface is vegetated and large numbers of birds (>1,000) were distributed across the lagoon. (A) Yellow circles represent take-off sites. White arrows represent approach angles for different flights. (B) One example of a flight path across the lake. Take-off site was away from the edge of the lake and the target altitude was reached before crossing over water.
