HEK 293T/17 cells were mock infected or infected with DENV 2 and cell lysates were collected at 24 hours post- transfection. Immunoprecipitation was performed using a pan specific anti-dengue E protein antibody and the immunoprecipitates were separated on (A) 12% and (B) 15% SDS–PAGE gels before silver staining. Boxed areas indicate bands that were excised for subsequent mass spectroscopy analysis. DENV 4 lysates are shown, but these experiments were discontinued as the antibody used in western analysis did not detect denatured DENV 4 E protein.
