MyD88-dependent secretion of IL-1β during rickettsial infection in vitro and in vivo. (A) BMDCs isolated from WT and MyD88^−/− mice were infected with R. australis (MOI = 5) for 24 h. IL-1β secretion by these infected cells was assayed by ELISA. (B) WT and MyD88^−/− mice were infected i.v. with R. australis (8 × 10⁵ PFU per mouse).
