(a) Primary keratinocytes were transfected with control (non-targeting) or STAT1 siRNA. Transfected cells were then treated with media or IFN-γ. Gene expression was analyzed by real-time PCR for STAT1. (b) Cells treated as above were subsequently incubated with 100 ng/ml alpha toxin and cell death was measured by LDH release.
