Comparison between Kaplan-Meier survival estimates of Bristol aortic valve surgery patients and the Monte Carlo-based generated Kaplan-Meier curve using the matched ONS population stratified by sex. Whereas the survival probability of women is significantly higher than men in the matched population (p<0.0001), no survival advantage exists for female gender among aortic surgery patients at the age of 65 years and over (p=0.71).
