The expression profiles of the three significantly altered EMT-related proteins in human pT3 prostate cancers were studied in an in vivo Pten−/− model of invasive prostate cancer. Two of the EMT-related proteins that were altered in human samples (increased cytoplasmic alpha smooth muscle actin and E-cadherin) showed similar changes in expression in prostate cancer cells in the Pten−/− model compared with benign prostate epithelial cells in Pten+/+ mice (adjusted-p < 0.05).
