Breakdown of the non‐Markovian analysis for a minimal intermediate region. FPTDs of the one‐dimesional toy model from A to B with a small intermediate region, see text, were obtained by postanalyzing a WE simulation using a regular first‐order Markov analysis (Markov) and non‐Markovian analysis (Non‐Markovian). The results are compared with a reference long MD simulation and error bars indicating a 95% confidence interval. The inset shows the same distribution in the interval $[0,30\times {10}^3]$ MC steps.
