Tissue or DNA from B6, D2, and the listed BXD RIs was obtained, prepared, and sequenced as described in Methods. Only the D2 inbred mouse strain and a subset of recently derived BXD RIs express a non-synonymous SNP at position 229, resulting in a threonine to proline substitution at position 77 (P77T) in the second transmembrane domain of mTAAR1.
