(A) siRNA knock‐down of Hsp70 in H9c2 cells in culture. There was a 70% decrease in Hsp70 expression in cells transfected with Hsp70 siRNA. (B) nsPRP attenuate H2O2‐induced ROS production via an Hsp70‐sensitive mechanism. H2O2 (44 mmol/L, 10 min) induced a powerful release of ROS in H9c2 cells. Cells pretreated (24 h) with nsPRP (0.5 µL of nsPRP in 3 mL cell culture media) and stimulated with H2O2 produced less ROS than cells not receiving nsPRP. However, this effect was partially reversed in cells transfected with Hsp70 siRNA. All data are expressed as means ± SEM. Data are representative of four experimental repeats.
