Angptl2 expression and macrophage recruitment during CNV generation. A–C, cytokines and macrophage induction after laser treatment to induce CNV in the RPE-choroid, determined by real time RT-PCR. A and B, the mRNA levels of Angptl2 (A) were increased in a biphasic manner, both rapidly and at 3 days after the laser treatment for CNV induction, although up-regulation of F4/80 (B), a macrophage marker, began at 1 day and was further elevated at 3 days. C, the mRNA levels of Mcp-1 rapidly peaked and were still increasing until 3 days compared with the control. D–G, immunostaining with or without laser treatment. D and E, Angptl2 (green) and an RPE marker, RPE65 (red), were co-expressed under control conditions (D) and at 3 h after CNV induction (E).
