The involvement of ERM and PI3K in the PPARα antiapoptotic effect. The pcPPAR-transfected NRK-52E cells were further transfected with ezrin, radixin, moesin or mock control siRNA, or pretreated with or without 1 nmol/L wortmannin for 30 min, and then treated with or without 3 mmol/L gentamicin for 24 h. (A) Representative flow cytometric data of gentamicin-induced apoptosis. Treated cells were stained with annexin V/PI and analyzed by flow cytometry. The sum of the cell percentages in quadrants 2 and 4 represents the percentage of apoptosis.
