Derwood’s carpal joints are hyperextended, resulting in a more plantigrade stance in the thoracic limbs (lines are drawn to delineate the carpal joint in each dog). Hagatha has a normal upright posture, while Derwood’s lumbar spine is kyphotic and his thoracic and pelvic limbs are shifted under the trunk (represented by the shorter line extending from the elbow to the stifle)
