CPI, an inhibitor of TAFIa, promotes FL. (A) The effect of CPI on TG is minimal. (B) Fibrin clots in the presence of CPI (black) lyse more quickly than clots in the absence of CPI (red). Experiments were performed in FIX-DP supplemented with 0.15 μg/ml tPA, 130 μg/ml CTI, 0 or 1.16 μg/ml CPI, and 6.25 nM TM. Note that CPI effects on lysis resistance happen at TF concentrations where TG parameters are largely unchanging; see supplemental Fig. S7.
