(B) qRT-PCR assay for analysis of the fold change of gene expression when H. mediterranei EPS cultured in fresh PAC medium without (−C) vs with (+C) glucose. Genes HFX_1509, HFX_2830, HFX_4016, and HFX_6355 encoding the 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase in β-oxidation cycle were chosen. The fold change of gene expression at 1 h, 5 h, and 10 h was analyzed. The fold change of expression of each gene was calculated by normalization to the expression of inner control 7S RNA.
