Percent change in basilar artery diameter 8 and 15 days after subarachnoid hemorrhage in dogs treated with intracisternal placebo microparticles without (n = 7) or with enteral nimodipine (n = 8, 5.2 mg/kg daily for 21 days), intracisternal nimodipine- poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) microparticles (n = 8, 40 mg), intracisternal nimodipine–PLGA microparticles (n = 6, 100 mg), or intraventricular nimodipine–PLGA microparticles (n = 8, 100 mg). There was significantly less angiographic vasospasm at 8 days after treatment with 100 mg nimodipine–PLGA microparticles intraventricularly, or at 15 days after treatment with 40 mg intracisternal or 100 mg intraventricular nimodipine–PLGA microparticles (p < 0.05, ANOVA). Values are means ± SD
