QKI-7 promotes translation when tethered to a reporter mRNA. (A) HEK293T cells were co-transfected with the pFlag-CMV5/TO-BGG-MS2bs reporter plasmid, the pEGFP-C1 reference plasmid and either pMS2–5×Myc-GST, pMS2–5×Myc-QKI-5, pMS2–5×Myc-QKI-6 or pMS2–5×Myc-QKI-7. The total cell lysate was analyzed by Western blotting with the indicated antibodies. (B) The amount of Flag-BGG protein in (A) was measured and normalized to the EGFP protein. The protein level in pMS2–5×Myc-GST transfected cells was defined as 100%. The results were derived from three independent experiments and shown as the means ± SD.
