Comparing the difference in Rereading time (REREAD) for implausible versus plausible target words for children with high versus low Academic Language (LANG) scores Because LANG is a continuous variable, it was modeled selecting values that were well within the range of the data. Low LANG was modeled at the 25th percentile of the sample (−.775) and High LANG was modeled at the 75th percentile of the sample (.109). Error bars represent the HLM standard error for the intercept. Literacy scores are held constant at the sample mean.
