(A) MDA-MB-231 cells were transfected with control siRNA (con) or two different siRNA oligos targeting LIF. EMT morphological change was examined by phase-contrast photomicrographs. (B) Knockdown of endogenous LIF changed the mRNA expression levels of EMT markers in MDA-MB-231 cells as determined by real-time PCR. The mRNA levels of these genes were normalized to β-actin. Data are presented as mean ± s.d. (n = 3). *p < 0.05; student t-test. (C) The protein levels of EMT markers were measured in cells by Western blot assays.
