(a) HAEC were pretreated with Mito-Esc (2.5 μM) for 2 h prior to the addition of H₂O₂ (0.5 mM) for 8 h and mitochondria genome-encoded gene expressions as indicated were measured by qRT-PCR. (b) HAEC were treated with various concentrations of H₂O₂ (0.25–0.75 mM) for 8 h and PGC-1α, SIRT3 and TFAM mRNA levels were measured by RT-PCR.
