Pathological examination skin after percutaneous application of dissolving microneedles (DMNs). Upper right panel shows skin condition immediately after insertion of DMNs. Pressure application of DMNs created pores on skin. Lower left panel shows skin condition 5 min after insertion of DMNs with pores still evident and not recovered. Lower right panel shows skin condition 10 min after insertion of DMNs. Pores disappeared, and skin structure recovered to normal physiology.
