(A) The body weight gain in the ghrelin-treated group at 20 days post-surgery was significantly higher than in the saline-treated group. No differences were detected in the body weight gain between ghrelin and saline-treated animals at 1 day and 4 days post-surgery. (B) Ghrelin administration significantly reduces post-operative adhesion formation at 20 days post-surgery. No significant difference in adhesion score was detected at 1 day post-surgery between saline and ghrelin-treated mice. Data are analyzed by two-way ANOVA multiple comparisons Fisher’s LSD test and expressed as mean ± SEM (**** p < 0.0001, * p < 0.05).
