(a) The renal arteries (intima and media) appear intact with no evidence of injury or inflammation. (c) The nerve fiber bundles in the sham control appear totally intact. (b) 28 days after CR, there is marked segmental media hyalinization with formation of mature nonstenosing neointima in the vessel; (d) and necrosis with perineurial fibrosis in conjunction with the nerve vacuolation.
