Combined effect of nutlin-3 and chloroquine treatments on apoptosis in EBV-negative and -positive latency III lymphoid cell lines. Cells were incubated with or without chloroquine (100 μM) for 2 h, followed by an incubation in the absence or presence of nutlin-3 for 24 h. Apoptosis was then measured by flow cytometry detection of ANXA5-FITC-positive cells (whether PI-positive or not). Values are means from at least 5 independent experiments, error bars represent standard deviation (SD). Statistical analyses were performed using the nonparametric Mann-Whitney test with Bonferroni correction to compare results obtained after treatment with chloroquine and nutlin-3 to those obtained after treatment with only one of these compounds.
