APP has been found in the ganglion cell layer through the inner nuclear layer in AD animal models (65, 81, 86, 106). Aβ has been found in the retina in all layers apart from the retinal pigment epithelium (81, 88, 93, 109, 114). Tau has been found in ganglion cell layer (99, 106, 133).
