The correct lookup table, based on biexponential relaxation for a range of T1L values with T1S and wS constant, is indicated by the black dashed line, with a particular T1 value of interest (T1L = 1350 ms) marked by the asterisk. The lookup table assuming monoexponential relaxation is indicated by the blue solid line. If a lookup (red dotted line) is performed using the monoexponential table and the highlighted signal intensity, the resulting T1* (1146 ms) is much less than T1L.
