Ergothioneine (1-100 μM) transport was measured for 60 minutes at 37°C in the presence of 140 mM sodium. Non-specific ergothioneine transport, measured in the presence of 1 mM unlabeled substrate, was subtracted from each point. Data are means ± SE of triplicates (SE not shown when smaller than the size of the symbols). Black lines represent the best fit of data to a Michaelis-Menten equation.
