S. aureus log colony forming units/ gram of tissue in the liver (a) and spleen (b) of infected mice. All mice were treated at the exact same way as in the MSSA survival assay, with the exception that they were sacrificed via CO2 inhalation 3 hours after inoculation and their liver and spleen were collected for cfu determination. Three mice were used in each group. Cfu counts were analyzed using one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni post-test calculation.
