Alcian blue hematoxylin/orange G (ABH/OG) and tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) stained demineralized histology of the calvaria described in Figure 1 are presented at 10x and 40x magnification to illustrate the absence of remodeling in Sham, and the extensive remodeling in both AltrX and AOX treated calvaria. Histomorphometry was performed to quantify osteoclast numbers and the percent of TRAP+ bone surface in the calvaria (n=5), and the data are presented as the mean +/− SD (*p<0.001 vs. Sham; #p<0.001 vs. AltrX).
