Production rates of hepcidin‐25 after single i.v. doses of lexaptepid. Hepcidin production rates were calculated based on the linear increase of total plasma hepcidin‐25 concentration between pre‐dose and 4 h after lexaptepid administration. Individual production rates are presented, with geometric means of six subjects. The 4 h data of one subject in the 0.6 mg·kg⁻¹ dose group, with concentration below the limit of quantitation, were excluded. Hepcidin production rates from subjects treated with LPS (van Eijk et al., 2014) are shown for comparison.
